Directors of Friends of Trinity River
Gary Seput
Until recently, second generation owner of San Francisco’s highly regarded and second oldest restaurant -- Sam’s Grill -- located in the City’s financial center. Former Executive Director, California Trout, Inc. A fisherman experienced throughout the world, intimately familiar with fishery needs and devoted to the protection of diminishing fishery resources in California. He has been a vital contributor to Trinity restoration and conservation efforts through the years. He considers the Trinity River his “home river.” His efforts on behalf of Trinity Restoration have been enormous. Without his passion and effort, Friends of Trinity River would not have made the tangible, significant progress it has achieved in accomplishing its objective -- its reason for being.
Thomas Weseloh
North Coast Manager for California Trout, Inc. A member of Trinity Adaptive Management Working Group. This is the stakeholders’ group that provides input to the Trinity River Restoration Program. It, along with the Science Advisory Board, advises the Trinity Management Council with recommendations for final Restoration Program decision making. An active participant in committees and sub-committees involved in restoration planning and direction. Active in dealing with state and federal agencies and state legislators and staff on issues affecting fisheries throughout California, but with particular emphasis on North Coast Rivers. He is extremely knowledgeable on all issues affecting fisheries.
Byron Leydecker
Founder of Friends of Trinity River and a similar predecessor organization in 1992. A member of Trinity Adaptive Working Management Group. Serves as volunteer and staff person for Friends of Trinity River. He also serves on committees and sub-committees of the Restoration Program.
